With McCarthy's lyrical prose and keen insight into the human condition, this trilogy captures the essence of a changing frontier and the timeless struggle for identity, connection, and purpose.

Titles In This Set:
All the Pretty Horses
The Crossing
Cities of the Plain

Description:

All the Pretty Horses:
John Grady Cole is the last bewildered survivor of long generations of Texas ranchers. Finding himself cut off from the only life he has ever wanted, he sets out for Mexico with his friend Lacey Rawlins. Befriending a third boy on the way, they find a country beyond their imagining: barren and beautiful, rugged yet cruelly civilized; a place where dreams are paid for in blood.

The Crossing:
Set on the south-western ranches in the years before the Second World War, Cormac McCarthy's The Crossing follows the fortunes of sixteen-year-old Billy Parham and his younger brother Boyd. Fascinated by an elusive wolf that has been marauding his family's property, Billy captures the animal - but rather than kill it, sets out impulsively for the mountains of Mexico to return it to where it came from.

Cities of the Plain:
In Cormac McCarthy's Cities of the Plain, two men marked by the boyhood adventures of All the Pretty Horses and The Crossing now stand together, between their vivid pasts and uncertain futures, to confront a country changing beyond recognition.

My experience with The Reading Spa was nothing but pleasurable. I ordered the Avatar book set as a gift for my partners birthday. I sent en email to check on shipping and arrival time to see if they could send it out before his birthday. They got back to me right away, said they would send it out as soon as they could, and were very friendly to converse with. There was one book missing that they addressed in our email exchange that hadn’t arrived for them yet. They took the time to send what was there so I could present the gift, and as soon as the other book arrived for them they sent it out immediately. I was able to present my gift on time, and my partner was so thrilled with it all thanks to them. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

Before I made my purchase, I communicated for a period of time with Vivian. Vivian was absolutely wonderful and answered every question I had and more. She responded to my questions thoroughly and with celerity. I thoroughly inspected my books upon receiving them and they were in pristine condition just as Vivian told me they would be. I cannot recommend the reading spa enough and plan to use them again in the future.
