The ULTIMATE! This collector's edition invites fans inside the world of Jane Austen's Elizabeth Bennet. A deluxe, cloth-bound, two-volume set includes gorgeous replicas of the characters' letters, plus all-new mementos, such as the Darcys' marriage certificate and an invitation to the ball at Netherfield.

Pride and Prejudice is one of the most beloved books of all time, and nothing captures the vivid emotion and keen wit of Jane Austen's novel better than the characters' correspondence. It is, after all, Darcy's heartfelt letter that finally changes Elizabeth's feelings from hostility and suspicion to respect and love.

Barbara Heller's specially curated edition, first published in 2020, brought these epistles to life and became a fan favorite. Pockets throughout the novel contain handwritten replicas of nineteen letters, from Mr. Collins's unctuous letter of introduction to Jane's urgent missive announcing Lydia's elopement. Readers can pull out each piece, peruse its contents, and feel transported to the breakfast table at Longbourn.

Now, this collector's edition offers a luxurious cloth binding, deluxe paper, and new printed ephemera that lend an additional dimension to the reading experience:

  • A newspaper clipping announcing that Netherfield Park is available to let
  • An invitation to the ball at Netherfield
  • An illustrated guide to Pemberley
  • Darcy and Elizabeth's marriage license
  • The first four manuscript pages of Austen's unfinished novel The Watsons

Heller's research notes shed fascinating light on how she imbued each letter with the character's unique personality and recreated historical postage marks. Delve deeper into the history with guest essays by Philip Palmer, curator and department head at the Morgan Library & Museum, and Dr. Juliette Wells, curator of the Morgan's 2025 exhibition of Austen's own letters, A Lively Mind: Jane Austen at 250. For anyone who loves Austen, and for anyone who still cherishes the joy of letter writing or collects printed memorabilia, this book offers an immersive experience of a favorite story.

NEW EXPERIENCE OF A BELOVED STORY: Pride and Prejudice has been passed down from generation to generation, and several beloved film adaptions over the years have welcomed new fans to the story. Revisit Austen's original text and experience it in a unique way with physical ephemera that links you directly to the world of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.

COLLECTOR'S VOLUME: From the masterful calligraphy and the painstaking attention to historical detail to the hand-folding of the letters and other paper memorabilia--this book is an object made by fans for fans. The novel is presented in two volumes, cloth-bound, foil-stamped, and housed in an elegant slipcase. It offers an exceptional reading experience, stands apart on the shelf, and makes for a truly lovely gift and keepsake.

NEW CONTENT: For fans who enjoyed Barbara Heller's 2020 special edition of Pride and Prejudice, this volume offers brand new content--including the Darcys' marriage license and a guide to Pemberley--bringing the total number of interactive elements to 24. This revised edition also features even more deluxe materials, including historically accurate papers for the letters, cloth binding on the spine, and full-color illustrated endpapers.

Perfect for:

  • Jane Austen fans
  • Fans of the many Pride and Prejudice film and television adaptions
  • Mother's Day, birthday, and holiday gifts for moms, daughters, grandmothers, and girlfriends
  • Book clubbers
  • Letter writers

Store owner replied: Hi Toni! We aim to find special collections! So glad you found us. These are published by a friend who owns a large company abroad! His books are lovely:-) They also have a paperback version I believe... So happy you are happy!

My experience with The Reading Spa was nothing but pleasurable. I ordered the Avatar book set as a gift for my partners birthday. I sent en email to check on shipping and arrival time to see if they could send it out before his birthday. They got back to me right away, said they would send it out as soon as they could, and were very friendly to converse with. There was one book missing that they addressed in our email exchange that hadn’t arrived for them yet. They took the time to send what was there so I could present the gift, and as soon as the other book arrived for them they sent it out immediately. I was able to present my gift on time, and my partner was so thrilled with it all thanks to them. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

Before I made my purchase, I communicated for a period of time with Vivian. Vivian was absolutely wonderful and answered every question I had and more. She responded to my questions thoroughly and with celerity. I thoroughly inspected my books upon receiving them and they were in pristine condition just as Vivian told me they would be. I cannot recommend the reading spa enough and plan to use them again in the future.
