Explore the remarkable creative world of J.R.R. Tolkien through Tolkien: Treasures, a beautifully illustrated volume drawn from the Tolkien archives at the Bodleian Library, Oxford. Written by Tolkien Archivist Catherine McIlwaine, this book brings together illustrations, maps, manuscripts, letters, photographs, and other archival material connected with Tolkien's life and work. All of our books are brand new.

About the Book

Tolkien: Treasures offers an accessible visual introduction to Tolkien's life, imagination, and creative work. It follows his journey from childhood and his experiences during the First World War through his academic career and his development as a writer, artist, illustrator, and mapmaker.

The book features material associated with The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion, including Tolkien's own artwork and intricately detailed maps of Middle-earth. It also draws on personal and archival material such as manuscripts, letters, family photographs, and private papers held by the Bodleian Library.

Why This Book Works

With 100 colour illustrations across 144 pages, Tolkien: Treasures offers a visual way to explore the relationship between Tolkien's artwork, maps, writing, scholarship, and the worlds of Middle-earth. It works particularly well alongside Tolkien: Maker of Middle-earth, the larger companion volume associated with the Bodleian's Tolkien exhibition.

Wicked Years Series 4 Books Collection Set: Wicked, Son of a Witch, A Lion Among Men & Out of Oz - Gregory Maguire

Store owner replied: Hi Toni! We aim to find special collections! So glad you found us. These are published by a friend who owns a large company abroad! His books are lovely:-) They also have a paperback version I believe... So happy you are happy!

My experience with The Reading Spa was nothing but pleasurable. I ordered the Avatar book set as a gift for my partners birthday. I sent en email to check on shipping and arrival time to see if they could send it out before his birthday. They got back to me right away, said they would send it out as soon as they could, and were very friendly to converse with. There was one book missing that they addressed in our email exchange that hadn’t arrived for them yet. They took the time to send what was there so I could present the gift, and as soon as the other book arrived for them they sent it out immediately. I was able to present my gift on time, and my partner was so thrilled with it all thanks to them. I couldn’t recommend this place more!
